RT 306 Auto Parts and Wrecking Junk Yard
The second location, The RT 306 Auto Parts and Wrecking junk yard, was a shorter stop for the photographers, but Maggie still had plenty of time to take amazing photographs of things such as rusty metal or car parts. The RT 306 Auto Parts and Wrecking has been a place for junk lovers to buy, sell, or examine lost treasures for over 35 years. The subject matter of the junk yard was amazing because of all different colors, designs, textures, and placement of objects in the yard. To Marley Graham, the junk yard was even, “The perfect spot to go treasure hunting! I found endless amounts of things to photograph”. These are all reasons why Maggie believed the junk yard was the perfect place to take intricate photographs. Maggie's favorite photos from this shoot consist of "10", "Piles", and "Take the wheel". Maggie's interests in 10 span from the contrast of colors between the red and brown to the leading lines in the background. Maggie also used shallow depth of field in the photograph to enhance the details. Maggie's other favorite photo, Piles represents the junk yard as a whole. Using the rule of thirds, Maggie gets a clear shot of foreground, middleground, and background. This allows for interesting composition and subject matter. Lastly, Take the wheel is also one of Maggie's favorites. Maggie used her computer graphics skills to enhance the details in the photo, to make the dull colors pop. She also spent lots of time figuring out the right angle to make the composition of the photograph the best it could be. This concludes Maggie's junk yard photographs, which are all very well thought out and composed.
